My work radiates warmth and familiarity — but also curiosity. I paint spaces and landscapes that evoke a feeling: of coming home, of pausing for a moment, of life carrying on. You see no people, but you feel their presence.

My images come from my own photography, film stills or newspaper photographs. I freeze those fleeting moments in the silence of a painting. In recent years nature has drawn me more and more — landscapes, flowers, the breath of the outdoors.

My work hangs in private collections and at the Social and Economic Council of the Netherlands in The Hague. I have participated in group exhibitions at Pulchri Studio in The Hague, Galerie Rijlaarsdam in Nieuwkoop, and an intimate group exhibition with four artists in Guadalest, Spain. Solo exhibitions include for instance the SER in The Hague and the Rabobank in Roelofarendsveen.
