My paintings emerge from images and moments that draw me in — they may be film stills, newspaper photos, or pictures I’ve taken myself. The fleeting nature of these film images or moments becomes, as it were, frozen in the stillness of the painting. The scenes often take place in the evening. The subjects include, among others, empty streets and ‘old-fashioned’ interiors with various views into other rooms. At the moment, the interior seems to be shifting outward, and nature is beginning to find its place in my work.
